It is MORE correct to say that until dancesport is included in the olympics, it will be included in the World Games instead.

----

 It is evn MORE more correct to say Dancing will NEVER be included in the Olympic games and those who pretend otherwise are Con Merchants.

It is sad to see IDSF efforts to include all types of 'dance' just  to meet the Olympic criteria for inclusion  as 'recognized' association.  Hip-Hop, wheel-chair, House, Disco, rain-dancing are very unique, very special, but in my opinion,  have little to do with the traditional, and well attended ballroom.

Including other type of dancing results in diluting 'dancesport', loss of  the "traditional ballroom fans, and their interest, while it  may attract  some curiosity seekers.  The events become overloaded, longer,  more confused, and  organizer will dread the consequences should they refuse an entry of a single " IDSF recognized"  dance style .

The   Con-Artists are aware of what they are doing, IOC recognition is so important  to them, they find themselves in   the  dead-end street,   which they would love to find the way out of.

How goes the saying :  " Give them enough rope and they will ......? "

How goes the saying :  " Be careful what you wish for ....?"

Note that FIDS, the Italian federation, is already organized this way - they are running all sorts of events. Typically (but not always) the competitions organized under the umbrella of the federation will concentrate on different dance styles, so a given event may not mix a lot of styles together.

I honestly don't know if this is better or worse, I can see merit in both approaches (from an organizational perspective) as long as the style-specific expertise itself (such as judging and programme criteria or dressing regulation etc.) is not mixed/diluted. I would be glad to hear the opinion of somebody from Italy.
