bulldog you stick with your 1 gas station towns, flapping bird wings,  boasting, deaf ears and one eyed view  and I will hold fast with my two wide open eyes to 1000 signatures being a good result.  With open eyes I see beyong my own garden  No defeat in sight and no justification needed.

Those who know they have cause to be worried will continually knock and mock the petition.Thats the easy road.

To the signatures (as dancer007 stated) can be added those who show with their feet and get out there and compete.  South Africa, Netherlands, Germany, Ukraine, Russia are just a few of the countries who know what is going on.  Those who support IDU, IDSA events plus the WDC Am League are showing the way.  Take a look here at some of the comps available http://www.tanzturniere.com/index.cfm?ID=493  add to this the Calendar on the WDC Am League website and the hundreds of "open" local comps every week and those who do not dance IDSF so called Opens.

You heard about Mannheim?  The third International Master Dance Sport Competition has just taken place.  Open to the world and no need to belong to any organisation.  Over 4000 participating in the competitions and every one of them sharing the sentiments of the petition. Maybe not all at the top level but then thats true of many  other events too.

I would say the petition can only be deemef to have "failed "when it can be proven beyond doubt that anyone who did not sign is totally opposed to the sentiments expressed in the petition

The "mockers and knockers" are a long way from that.

Do I need say more ?

If you have not voted for Obama  you can hardly boast your lack of participation has helped his cause, had him elected.

Just because you separate your garbage for responsible disposal does not mean you helped to elect the Green Party  ( environmentally friendly ) to government leading position, and that Green Party did a good job when lobbying for your vote.

If you were one of 4000 in Mannheim  but have ignored the Petition for Freedom  does it say the Petition itself was a success or a complete failure, or would you conclude the two exist side by side independent of each other.  Come on now !

Your 4000 participants example is just a small fraction of able competitors and even smaller fraction of the dance lovers.

Lets stop beating about the bush,  and call the Petition what it is,  a poorly structured, poorly carried out and virtually ignored attempt by WDC to make a point.

I completely agree with those who say that it is the dancer's actions, whether in Russia, Ukraine or elsewhere which speak out.    No need  of embarrassment brought about by ignored, failed  petitions such as this one.

Lets stop kicking a dead horse,  you cannot make this one a  winner ,  no matter how hard you try.

Those boasting that the  results of this petition are some type of  a victory,  success, or anything other than an ignored attempt for a petition,   please note,  your credibility may  be questioned in the future, even  when you make quite reasonable conclusions.

Strong contender for the prize as the most hilarious funny submission (so pompous and tinged with arrogance) there bulldog.

Some think it was a success, others claim it was a failure. Difference of opinion. No more and No less and the only real judges are those who launched the petition and know if it achieved its objective or not.

That there is so much comment is a sign of success for the petition, along with the many other points made by various contributors.

P.S.  This Obama you mention which country do they dance for?

Re: PETITION for Freedom to Dance

Was it a success.
It needs balls to sign it if you think in that way depending who and what you come from.
Look at some of the names and the connections. Now that is very interesting.
If 10 out of the 1000 did do something positive it for sure would make some changes around the World.
To change anything always takes time.
You can be very sure it was a success that tipped the scales for at least 1. Enough is enough and the time has come.
Some of us will be changing things right now.
IDSF Bans will not work for ever. In the end they will ban themselves out of the market as people wake up and stop to be pushed around.
Yes it was a success for at least 1 and action will be taken.

You would not be suggesting that you are going to make a switch before the time  when you will be required by IDSF to purchase a liability insurance in case someone decides to take you to the court  claiming  injury ,   would you ?

May I predict that the liability insurance requirement shall  be the last straw for many of the so far very tolerant members.
